A: Our office staff will review your Consultation Request, and contact you to select the best time. We are available for consultations five days a week.
Q: Who will I see at my appointment?
A: Depending on your needs, you will be seen by one of our licensed prosthetists who are highly qualified and certified in the areas of prosthetic design and care.
Q: What do I need to bring with me to an appointment?
A: Begin by filling out our Patient Questionnaire and Insurance Verification Form.
Please bring all insurance information, X-rays, shoes, past prosthetic devices, and any medical correspondence that may pertain to your condition so that we can determine the best possible treatment and device for your needs. Also, please bring your prescription to your initial appointment.
Q: DO I NEED A PRESCRIPTION FOR YOUR SERVICES?
A. Yes, before we start the prosthetic process and other services you will need a prescription from your doctor.
However, a free consultation is available to meet our staff and receive more information without a prescription.
Q: WILL MY INSURANCE PAY FOR MY PROSTHESIS?
A: Yes, most services at Gulf Biomechanical Labs are covered by your insurance. However, each coverage plan can vary. Gulf Biomechanical Labs will verify your benefits and file your claim.
Q: WHAT IF I DON’T HAVE INSURANCE?
A: Gulf Biomechanical Labs works with several organizations that may help fund your prosthetic devices.
Q: HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO GET MY PROSTHESIS?
A: Your practitioner will provide you with a more accurate time frame during your initial consultation including evaluation, casting, fitting, delivery, and follow-up. .Delivery time will vary based on your healing process. Generally, it will take several weeks to receive your prosthesis once your residual limb is healed. There are several steps to the prosthetic process.
